Peteris Ciemitis whose solo exhibition 'Indigo' opens at Gadfly on 1st August has recently been announced the Winner of the Contmporary Art Prize at this year's Cossack Art Award. Congratulations Peteris! ... another one to add to this year's bag of accolades, including WA's only Finalist at the 2008 Archibald Prize.

New Artists Join the Gadfly Stable  20 Jul 2008
Welcome to several new artists who have recently joined, and are now represented by Gadfly Gallery. All are set to exhibit in 2009, with some works being available to see in the gallery already.

AVITAL SCHEFFER - noted ceramicist with many international years experience whose works combine elements of history, geography, philosophy and the decorative syntax of her Middle Eastern heritage. Her work is on show during August at Gadfly Gallery.

TAMMY ANDREWS - jons us after several years of running her own gallery in WA's Southwest where she's established a very strong following.

PAUL DENNIS - You've seen his graphic design work around... those dragonflies for the Leeuwin Estate label ? ... but as a fine artist he will make his mark in February 2009.

ELIZA PIRO - An innovate young artist whose passion for India fires a creative spirit unlike any other - her paintings are pure happiness!

SHARON DAWES - One of the outstanding students in the 2007 Curtin University Graduation Show, Sharon Dawes' animal paintings are set to become Australian Icons.

JANE O'HALLORHAN - optically complex, marvellously retro, O'Hallorhan's fascination with the cosmos fuels her latest works.
