About This Exhibition
Gadfly Gallery established in 1996, specialises in Contemporary Fine Art from around the globe, and is recognized as one of the leading Fine Art galleries in Western Australia. Artists are drawn mainly from Australia, with exhibitions also including works from Italy, Brazil, Portugal, Germany, Indonesia and India. Gadfly Gallery is also a leading venue for Australian Aboriginal art.

With a special interest in the art and textile heritage of India, Director Anna Kwiecinska has already embarked upon a program to thematically combine Australian Aboriginal paintings with those from India, with a recent exhibition featuring the mesmerizing work of Abie Loy Kemarre from Australia’s Central Desert together with the work of India’s most sought-after young contemporary artist Manish Pushkale.

This Autumn Gadfly Gallery is proudly showcasing the work of seven exhilirating artists in Singapore and India .

Becky Blair joins this group with her zesty interpretations from a recent Indian odyssey.

Regina Noakes and Adrian Lockhart are established Australian artists with international careers in the US and Europe. Both possess traditional skills, which coupled with their unique talents and heritages create figurative and still life works where the absolute mastery of paint complements their technical virtuosity in drawing. Lockhart’s canvases are fluidly expressive, pared down and powerful in their understated elegance – at once a homage to Morandi and absolutely timeless. Regina Noakes draws upon her Indian heritage for nostalgic subjects that continue to impact upon her daily life in Australia.

Esther Erlich and Nicholas Burton are much-awarded Australian artists whose individual visions of contemporary society have found unique expression. Erlich’s portraits are devastating in their ability to get beneath the skin of the sitter; Burton’s quirky shorthand for life is totally unique and great fun.
