About This Exhibition
Mark Davis has committed many years to the observation and study of 'water' in its many guises.

In 2011 we exhibited his 'deep sea' underwater images - Mark Davis' first exhibition in Western Australia. We loved his work so much that we've invited him back, this time with his latest versions of his much-loved water lily series which created his name on the East Coast some years ago.

With 14 luscious new canvases there's a lot to enjoy with 'WATERLILIES'. And Mark Davis' work has a proven record as an investment, with some 43 sales at auction (Deutscher Menzies), reaching close to catalogue prices in exhibitions in the same period.

Characteristically quiet, Mark prefers to let the man best know the world over for the subject have the last word:

"I'M NOT A GREAT PAINTER NEITHER AM I A GREAT POET.I ONLY KNOW THAT I DO WHAT I CAN TO CONVEY MY EXPERIENCE BEFORE NATURE, AND MOST OFTEN, TO SUCCEED IN CONVEYING WHAT I FEEL, I TOTALLY FORGET THE MOST ELEMENTARY RULES OF PAINTING -
IF THEY EXIST THAT IS."
