Jane Flowers
Western Shores
05 Feb - 21 Feb 2010

Rottnest View

About This Exhibition
Part mermaid, part pirate, there is nothing Jane likes to do better than plunder the country for ideas for her paintings.

Known for her inland reds and intense blues, she also likes to explore the subtleties of a silvery palette, usually enhanced with the use of metallic oils

Jane is fascinated by the movement of the ocean, the shimmer of light on water, the vast skies and horizons of our country and the patterns to be found in the landscape.

Essentially self taught she is developing an ever increasing array of tools and techniques to achieve subtle textural effects to enhance her works.

For this exhibition 'Western Shores', Jane returns constantly to her much-loved diving and sailing destinations from Rottnest to Coral Bay and Broome for this collection of large, serene paintings, where 'less' is definitely 'more'.

See Jane's work featured in the currect issue of Home Beautiful magazine (link to the left of this page).
